How to Get SKU, GTIN, Barcode Numbers for Dropshipping?

Before we start with the way to get SKU, GTIN, Barcode Numbers, it's important to understand what each of these terms means:

1. SKU (Stock Keeping Unit)



SKU is an internal code used by the retailer to track inventory. As each product will have a unique SKU code, it will be easier to distinguish it from other products. Hence, it makes inventory management and tracking much easier than before.


2. Barcode



Barcode is a machine-readable code in the form of numbers and patterns of parallel lines of varying widths printed onto a product for identification.


3. GTIN (Global Trade Item Number)



GTIN is unique identification number that are assigned to products. It's used to track inventory and can be found on product labels, barcodes, and packaging.

There are four main types of GTINs:

GTIN-12 (UPC-A): used primarily in North America and consists of 12 digits.
GTIN-13 (EAN/UCC-13): used primarily in Europe and consists of 13 digits.
GTIN-14 (EAN/UCC-14 or ITF-14): used to identify a group of items and consists of 14 digits.
GTIN-8 (EAN/UCC-8): used for small products and consists of 8 digits.
